Mini-Post: Infants & Children’s Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec & Benadryl Recall

On Saturday, Johnson & Johnson in conjunction with the FDA conducted a voluntary recall of many of its Infants and Children’s Tylenol, Motrin, Zyrtec and Benadryl products.

<Click HERE for a full list of all the recalled products.>

The reason for the recall is that some of the products may have higher levels of active ingredients than specified, other have inactive ingredients not approved, and some contain “particles.” Sorry, but WTHeck is a “particle.” Are we talking nano-bots? Dark matter?! WTHeck?!

Anyway, the FDA recommends we all go out and buy generic brands which are not effected by the recall…thanks for that, I already buy generic brands from Target.

Just flagging this for everyone because medication SCARES me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad we have it and I use it regularly on myself and Pineapple but dosages FREAK MY CHILI. Be careful out there!

Children’s Tylenol & Motrin Recall

I received a very thoughtful message from my pal Nanci on (a great site – check it out!) and given that Pineapple has been ill as well as teething recently, therefore taking some of these medications, it was particlarly timely. I thought I’d share the info with you folks just in case you missed the recall notification.

You can read more about the recall on BabyCenter.

And here is a list of the specific products for children that are being recalled:

  • Children’s Tylenol Bubblegum Meltaway 30 count
  • Children’s Tylenol Grape Meltaway 30 count
  • Junior Strength Motrin IB Grape Chewable 24 count
  • Junior Strength Motrin IB Caplet 24 count
  • Junior Strength Motrin IB Orange Chewable 24 count

Be sure to check the links above for the specific NCD and UPC codes to compare to the products you might have in your cabinets!

And thank you Nanci – and TruuMomConfessions for raising awareness!
